Woodlawn Arts Academy
Woodlawn Arts Academy is an educational 501c3 institution in Sterling, Illinois, which strives to live by its motto: Where the Arts are for EVERYONE! We offer quality arts programming opportunities to all ages in all disciplines such as visual art, music, theatre, dance, education, culinary and much more to the Sauk Valley Community. We hold five, eight-week sessions on an annual basis. Our programs are taught by dedicated, educated, and experienced staff members. We also continue to grow and reach more individuals through our quarterly art exhibits, events, outreach programs and arts-based Preschool Program. Our purpose is to offer artistic opportunities that leave a positive impact and a lifelong appreciation for the arts for all individuals that participate.
Woodlawn Arts Academy opened their doors in 2006. The Academy now averages 3,600 registrations a year but reaches thousands through their outreach, performances and special events. Woodlawn Arts Academy is a proud United Way Agency of Whiteside and Lee Counties. Woodlawn offers financial assistance to those that apply and qualify. To date, Woodlawn has awarded over $200,000 in financial assistance. A 1/3 of Woodlawn’s income is dependent on donations and grants. There are many ways to support Woodlawn and the arts in our community such as our Annual Appeal, Legacy Program, Endowment Fund or donate through the Woodlawn website.
